Industry leader, LeanIX, made the decision to move virtual for their annual conference, just two months ahead of their scheduled event. It was a major pivot for the world’s leading enterprise architecture conference but one that Cramer was ready to help them take on. With our studio, broadcast technology, platform expertise, and experience design, LeanIX’s virtual EA Connect Day 2020 was a success by every measure.

EA Connect Day is best-known as a conference for bringing Enterprise Architects, CIOs, and IT executives together to discuss, deliberate, and resolve the most significant topics and challenges in the industry profession. Over 1,700 experts registered for the virtual event this year making it one of the largest conferences of its kind.

Cramer was tasked to support and execute a program that could connect and engage a global audience. Together, we decided to broadcast live from the Cramer studio, located in Norwood, MA.  

The event’s host utilized our entire studio to help keep the program moving along throughout the day. We then streamed over 10 remote presenters from across the globe – each one able to engage and connect with the audience.  

Engagement through the Screen  

EA Connect Days strive to connect professionals across the enterprise architecture industry, meaning a vital component of these events is networking and collaboration among attendees. This year’s virtual program utilized the chat, polling, and Q&A features to help connect attendees from across the globe to the program. The event aims to bring 500 of the industry’s leaders together in one place, but this year it quickly grew to a virtual event with over 900 viewers across 51 different countries.

Q&A sessions served as a key element of the virtual experience, continuing the conversation and building community beyond the keynote presentations.

Knowing the agenda was chalk full of informative content, we worked to give moments of surprise and delight to attendees. These lighter moments, such as a through–the-screen magic show from Digital Deception, to a musical performance, to a surprise guest appearance by an alpaca, gave attendees and speakers a chance to feel re-energized, allowing everyone to stay engaged throughout the event. Part of the success relied on balancing education with fun!

It may not have been the conference LeanIX envisioned at the beginning of 2020, but together with Cramer, it became an event to remember.
